The last footprints on the Moon, so far
Apollo 17's lunar module touched down in the Taurus-Littrow valley, carrying the last two people to walk on the Moon in the twentieth century. Geologist Harrison Schmitt and commander Gene Cernan spent three days exploring the surface, and no human has stood there since.
