    Proof that rocks fall from the sky

    A shower of thousands of stones fell on the town of L'Aigle in France, and the young physicist Jean-Baptiste Biot was sent to investigate. His report finally convinced scientists that meteorites really come from space, founding the study of these visitors from beyond the Earth.
