Astronomers find a star that is a giant diamond
Astronomers announced that a burned-out star about fifty light-years away had crystallized into solid carbon, in effect a diamond the size of a small planet. They nicknamed it Lucy, after the Beatles song. It is a glimpse of what our own Sun may turn into, billions of years from now.
